Which BonLook stores offer eye exams?
Eight BonLook stores have an on-site optometrist: Notre-Dame Ouest, Royalmount and Place Montréal Trust in Montreal, Place Ste-Foy in Quebec City, Carrefour Laval, Centre Les Rivières in Trois-Rivières, Square One in Mississauga and Toronto Eaton Centre. Our other boutiques offer optician services only. In Western Canada, book an exam through our partner, FYidoctors.
Do I need an eye exam to buy glasses at BonLook?
Only for prescription lenses, and an existing prescription works. In most provinces, a glasses prescription stays valid for two years from your exam date, and you're entitled to a copy of it. Non-prescription frames, blue-light lenses and ready-made readers from +0.50 to +3.25 need no prescription at all.
Are eye exams covered by RAMQ or OHIP?
Yes, for eligible ages. RAMQ covers optometric exams for Quebec residents under 18 and 65 and over. OHIP covers Ontario residents 19 and under and 65 and over, plus adults 20 to 64 with a qualifying medical condition. Bring your provincial health card so an eligible exam can be billed to the public plan.
Can my child get an eye exam at BonLook?
Yes, and minimum ages vary by store. Notre-Dame Ouest and Square One see children of any age; Royalmount starts at five, Place Montréal Trust, Place Ste-Foy and Centre Les Rivières at six, and Toronto Eaton Centre at ten. Children's exams are covered by RAMQ under 18 and OHIP under 19 — bring the health card.
How much does an eye exam cost at BonLook?
Eye exam pricing varies by the type of exam you need, since some appointments involve additional testing. Each store lists its own pricing, so confirm when you book. Costs may be fully or partly covered depending on your province, age and private insurance plan.
