The brightest timeline
2010
The business plan days: co-founder and CEO Sophie Boulanger is working on bringing BonLook to life.
2011
Weโve got a website โ which originally catered to US and international customers only.
2012
Learning, growing and experimenting! Our COO Louis-Fรฉlix Boulanger joins in on BonLook, and we start increasing our range of lenses and office space. We also try out different business models, put together pop-up shops, and learn that parrots and porcupines should not be part of photoshoots.
2013
Our first virtual stylist service! Weโd ask customers to fill out a questionnaire, which allowed us to put together a video with tailored recommendations. You could even send it out to friends and family to get them to vote on their favourite choice of frame for you!
2014
We finally get to offer our glasses to Canadian customers online! Itโs also the year that marks our first collab with Brooklyn-based style blogger and cat-eye lover Keiko Lynn.
2015
BonLook has its first mall kiosk in Montrealโs Promenades de la Cathรฉdrale, and launches a collaboration with public figure Maripier Morin.
2016
Introducing: our first menโs collection, and our very first actual-for-real store in the CF Fairview Pointe Claire mall in Montrealโs West Island, soon to be followed by a few more stores in the same year.
2017
BonLook launches a collaboration with singer-songwriter Cลur de pirate, and our collaboration with actress and public figure Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse begins.
2018
We get to team up with athlete and figure skating champion Tessa Virtue,ย ย journalist, author, and women's rights activist Liz Plankย and with media personality Mitsou Gรฉlinas. That year, we also open our first store in Western Canada.
2019
Time to step things up with our very own optical lab, located near our headquarters in montrealโs Saint-Henri neighbourhood. 2019 is also the year of our first fully-made-in-Canada collection, of our collaboration with hockey player Taylor Hall, and of our first on-site optometrist!
2020
BonLook has a storefront location on Montrealโs Saint-Viateur street! We also launch our long-awaited, entirely redesigned website.
2021
We get to celebrate 10 years, 36 stores (and counting!), 5 provinces, hundreds of employees and thousands of customers.
